Les Jebson

Les Jebson currently serves as an Administrator and Lecturer with The SIU School of Medicine.

His areas of expertise and professional focus includes healthcare market strategy, service line development and market disruption and innovation. He has over 100 authored healthcare publications and national speaking engagements and is an active lecturer at several universities.

His employment history is particularly noteworthy, having held clinical, financial, operational and research roles in both private and academic healthcare organizations.

Mr. Jebson is certified and a fellow with both The American College of Healthcare Executives [ACHE] and The Medical Group Management Association [MGMA] and is also a Licensed Healthcare Risk Manager [ASHRM].

Shellie Sulzberger, LPN, CPC, ICDCT-CM

Shellie has 20 years of experience in the health care industry, with diverse experiences as a nurse, internal compliance auditor, and health care consultant. Shellie co-founded Coding & Compliance Initiatives, Inc. (CCI) in 2003, and is recognized for her extensive knowledge of documentation and coding guidelines. In addition to being a licensed practical nurse (LPN) and certified professional coder (CPC), Shellie is also a certified ICD-10 trainer.

Professional Experience

Tracy began her health care career managing small independent practices in the specialties of allergy, ENT, and orthopedics. She subsequently spent 23 years with a professional liability insurance company providing practice management expertise to insured members. Most of her work centered around efficient business operations, maximizing revenue through appropriate coding and documentation for billing, identifying and correcting areas of risk and compliance, and training physicians and staff. Medical Practice Advisors, LLC was founded in 2016 to assist physician practices and hospitals move to a value based health care environment.

Professional Experience
Three years as a health care auditor focused on Medicare cost report reimbursement for hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, rehab facilities and rural health clinics.

Ten years in public accounting as a health care consultant and management consultant working with a wide range of health care providers (hospitals and health systems, long-term care providers, physician clinics, home health agencies, etc.). Patrick worked extensively in the areas of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, preparing cost reports and assisting his client’s improve their corporate compliance effectiveness.

Founding member of Coding & Compliance Initiatives, Inc., S&S Healthcare Services and Total Solution Partners. TSP is focused on positioning our clients for the future in a value-based health care environment.

Troy Ross, President & CEO – Mid-America Coalition on Health Care

Troy Ross, MSM, serves as President and CEO of the Mid-America Coalition on Health Care (MACHC). A non-profit organization established in 1979 by the CEO’s of the region’s largest employers (Civic Council of Greater Kansas City) as a vehicle to address the rising costs of healthcare and improve the health and well-being of current and future employees and their families in the Greater Kansas City Area. The Coalition is our nation’s premier collaborative model bringing together major employers and all healthcare delivery stakeholders (physicians and medical societies, health plans, hospitals, unions, pharmaceutical companies, academic institutions, public health, broker-consultants and bi-state governmental units). Their community-wide membership base along with their unique collaborative model, enable the Coalition to draw upon the widest possible range of expertise from the region, and the nation, to carry out their projects. The Coalition currently has 80+ members and contributors representing more than 600,000 lives in the greater metropolitan area.

Prior to joining the Coalition, Troy enjoyed a successful 20+ year career as a pharmaceutical sales and marketing executive, serving in leadership positions with Novo Nordisk, Pfizer and Warner Lambert-Parke Davis.

Troy received his master of science in management from Baker University School of Professional & Graduate Studies and his bachelor of arts in psychology from Mid-America Nazarene University.

Troy and his wife, Ellen, have been married for 27 years with three children and six grandchildren all residing in the Kanas City Area.

Martie Ross

Following a successful two-decade career as a healthcare transactional and regulatory attorney, Martie now serves as a trusted advisor to providers navigating the ever-expanding maze of healthcare regulations. Her deep and wide understanding of new payment and delivery systems and public payer initiatives is an invaluable resource for providers seeking to strategically position their organizations for the future. Martie identifies opportunities and develops realistic plans of action where others only see obstacles.

Martie synthesizes complex regulatory schemes and explains in straightforward and practical terms their impact on providers. She has made hundreds of presentations to professional and community organizations on a broad range of industry topics. Martie provides dynamic, customized educational and planning sessions for directors, executives, and managers, and employee compliance training programs.

Martie received a Bachelor of Arts and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas. She is an active member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the Kansas Association of Hospital Attorneys, and the Greater Kansas City Society of Healthcare Attorneys.

Martie was chosen as a Missouri/Kansas Super Lawyer in 2008 and 2009. She was also chosen as one of the Best Lawyers in America® from 2005 to 2011. She has previously worked as Staff Counsel for US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia as well as a Law Clerk for Hon. Deanell Tacha, US Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
